10,000 stairs to heaven

This blog is about the most holy and deeply spiritual experience I had when I climbed the Girnar Parvat. I got the opportunity to do this thrice in three years through the amazing camps organized by ASMA [ Arjun school of martial arts ] to Junagadh. Read my previous blogs about my experience in ASMA, which I will link down below, this one is purely for the experience I had on Girnar. I will try to take you to the top with me, so sit back and read....

The steps begin with the holy chants of god,

I reached the base of the mountain, to conquer it with my squad.

The air sweet and cool and the vibrations pure,

probably the best I will feel in my life's tenure.

The first few steps a little difficult,

but the mountain welcomes everyone, every child, every adult.

At 2,500 steps, comes the Derasar as peaceful as the sea,

Why did I chase the material, when such true peace is for free!

A place to pray and meditate,

A place to think and contemplate.

But that time ends, and we leave that place behind,

On to the further steps, on with the grind.

We soon reach Ambaji, leaving behind us 5000 stairs,

Feeling the power of the goddess, no one wanted to rest, none asked for chairs.

I sat in front of the Idol, with my eyes closed,

I knew I had someone to help me with challenges life posed.

The faith unbreakable, the divine energy overwhelming,

Realize that you are the actor, of the movie god is filming.

I prayed for me and my family, I prayed for peace on earth,

Realized how I was living, without knowing life's true worth.

But the steps do not end, Only halfway now complete,

So I asked for power from the Devi and got back up on my feet.

5000 more steps to go, In order to reach the top,

On the way I saw, so many people working hard at their shop,

I saw people carrying load, up and down the mountain,

They had to earn, but still had smiling faces, they knew their ship had a captain.

A helping hand reached out, every time I would stumble,

Every soul pure, and every person humble.

I looked down, and below me were the clouds,

Above me was the temple of Dattatreya, with respect I bowed.

I can't explain the energy their, all I can say is that It was pure bliss,

Its the experience one should never miss.

I forgot about my tired legs and about any problem,

I would describe the top as peace's emblem.

A sage kept his hand on my head, felt as warm as a loving embrace,

I do not believe that there could be more of a heavenly place.
