Ashes.........

The wind can uproot trees, the wind can play the chime,

People, days and posessions all burnt to ashes by time.

The naive watch it burn through out, consumed by the unforgiving fire,

Some burned away in anger, some in a pyre.

Burn away. Burn away oh moments of today,

You will turn to ashes, whether you fight or pray.

The ashes nurture the soil, nothing gone to waste,

The known destination of death fails to teach us the nature of futile haste.

The worries you are drowned in are useless,

The changing times and raging tides are ceaseless.

Burn away, Burn away oh tears of today,

The unpercieved flame comes out to play.

What is left after the moments gone by,

The ashes that are stuck to me, won't wash off away if I try.

They loved and they smiled, now refusing to look,

It all turns to ashes, the clock is a vicious crook.

Burn away, Burn away oh friends of today,

Let the ashes of memories and lessons nurture the soil and let me pray.

Losing interest in all that is material, this body is a mere toy,

The dull man running behind pleasure, mistaking it for joy.

Born to burn, in this raging and unending fire,

The flames of love, ambition, anger and at last the pyre...

Burn away, Burn away oh bodies made of clay,

The blissful soul now unhinged, was a needle stuck in hay.

A strong body makes a strong mind, a strong mind a strong soul,

Each action done, has a spiritual goal.

Ones of yesterday gone today, those of today gone tomorrow,

The only truth in life met with grief and sorrow.

Burn away, burn away oh desires of today,

Let me take a careful step, hold the heart's screams at bay.

Grieve! Grieve the lost oh man, to your heart don't be a bully,

For to grieve deeply is to have loved fully.

Give it your all! there is not much time left,

Burn yourself away in love and bliss, beware of time's hasty theft.

Burn away, burn away, the people, the days, the bliss, the pain,

Still alive in your heart, the ashes remain... the ashes remain...
