About the author
J.K. Rowling, in full Joanne Kathleen Rowling, pen name of Joanne Rowling, (born July 31, 1965, Yate, near Bristol, England), British author, creator of the popular and critically acclaimed Harry Potter series, about a young sorcerer in training. After graduating from the University of Exeter in 1986, Rowling began working for Amnesty International in London, where she started to write the Harry Potter adventures. In the early 1990s she traveled to Portugal to teach English as a foreign language, but, after a brief marriage and the birth of her daughter, she returned to the United Kingdom, settling in Edinburgh. Living on public assistance between stints as a French teacher, she continued to write. The first book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (1997; also published as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), was released under the name J.K. Rowling. (Her publisher recommended a gender-neutral pen name; born Joanne Rowling, she used J.K., adding the middle name Kathleen.) The book was an immediate success, appealing to both children, who were its intended audience, and adults.
The review
Unlike many other books, Harry potter picks up speed and the theme of the plot immediately. It is one of my favourite books. When you start reading it, it holds you till the end and in the end of each chapter, you cannot control the urge to read the next one. If you are just sitting around and have nothing to do, this book is going to keep you occupied for hours!
It has amazing plot twists and each line of the book is more interesting than the other. I did not feel even for a second while reading the books that the content is boring me. It keeps getting more and more exiting after every chapter. The first book is basically a build up of the story but is still interesting. The rest of the books are pretty impressive as well, the plot gets stronger and the story builds up. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the seven books. The eighth book might seem a bit boring to a few as its a bit slow and does not pick up the plot that fast. Even though the plot of Harry potter is about fantasy and magic, it appeals to readers of all ages including adults!
No matter of what age you are, you will enjoy the content of this book ! I would surely recommend every bookworm like me to read Harry potter as you would surely enjoy it .
