Playing blind

I know not the cards dealt by fate,

Facing down at the uncertain future darkness grins menacingly,

I know not the wicked games of love and hate,

Thoughts futile for it is a gamble, a blind play is all it is.

I know not If the seas I desire to cross shall present me with storms,

I hoist the sails regardless and let the wind take me,

I know not if I shall fit in the world with all its norms,

I hold my head up high regardless and let their eyes meet me.

I know not if I shall be as great as I dreamt of becoming,

I work without looking at its fruit,

I know not if all shall sing along to the song I am humming,

Gratitude for the voice given by god, If it is meant there shall be a chorus.

I know not if I shall get the love I gave in return,

For I was taught to love without expectation,

I know not from these beliefs what I shall yearn.

The little boy in there somewhere was taught to be the best in god's eyes...

I know not if I shall be fooled by this world which shines like gold,

Hesitant steps still choose to trust,

The steps that wish to run towards the light without a hand to hold,

The unpredictable gifts beyond what we can fathom..

I know not what is written for me tomorrow,

Yet I am awaken every morning by the writer,

I was chosen to breathe one more day, it shall not pass in sorrow,

Every second of life a blind gamble, all one must do is keep the game on..
